I've repaird iPhones and different iPods before and this was the first time I had to use a solder gun for a repair. I got a solder gun at radio shack for dirt cheap. The desoldering of the original dead battery was not easy and neither was soldering the new one on. Must make sure the solder welds have good contact and do not touch anywhere between the 3 solder points. This repair was pretty hard and advise to take your time and not rip or burn off the delicate battery cable
